Bose MIE2 mobile headset http://global.bose.com/index.html
I don’t know about you, but I don’t like walking around with one of those hands-free headsets sticking out of my ear. It may sound equally odd that I don’t mind corded headsets. To get the best of both worlds, I’ve discovered mobile headphones from Bose. The MIE2 mobile headset allows you to listen to music and take calls. And the sound quality is remarkable. And if you’ve got an “iSomething”, go for the MIE2i, which includes a 3-button remote that is specifically designed to work with iPhones, iPod, and iPads. (I don’t make anything by telling you about these; I just think Bose makes great stuff!)
Malwarebytes http://www.malwarebytes.org/
A tech savvy buddy of mine recently told me about this great free resource to help rid your computer of all forms of malware, including viruses, Trojans, spyware, adware, and rootkits. I’ve used it a number of times to clear my computer of these undesirables. I also run Microsoft Security Essentials, but have found Malwarebytes to be an effective addition. Plus it’s free!
This is a reasonably well known service now, but I’m still surprised how many people don’t know about it when I ask them. I signed up for an efax account about 1 year ago now and I couldn’t live without it now. It costs $15 a month – you get a fax number and you receive all your faxes in an email as a PDF attachment – it’s fantastic! – no more fax paper, paper jams, slow feeds or scanning! They even offer a 30 day free trial.
Dropbox https://www.dropbox.com
Again this application is now quite well known, but again I’m surprised how many people don’t know about or use this free service. Dropbox lets you convert almost any device into a device that has a mobile C drive that you can access anywhere, including your iPhone and iPad (by installing the free Drop box app). You create directories in Dropbox, save your files there, and then you can access them from any device at any time. You can also share your directories and files with anyone you want. Your files in Dropbox also sync with your C drive on your PC/Mac so they are backed up regularly. Dropbox has totally transformed my consulting business – I can share files with my customers, assistant and other partners effortlessly, and access them anywhere from my PC, iPhone or iPad – thank you Dropbox!
